 eCam is a relatively new, free, CNC programming system (a basic CAD/CAM package designed for both Milling and Turning) which shows great promise, especially for beginners to the world of CNC.
It’s post processor needs some configuration to make it machine friendly but other than that it all seems good.

 tweakie, nice job! It would be interesting to remove the circles and cut wooden floor tiles.

 Hi Amator,

The holes can be easily removed by setting the centre and spoke diameters to 0% - my thoughts were for making a jigsaw puzzle but I can see that they would make great interlocking floor tiles.

(I think the designer has in mind to have them made from titanium and used in body armor).

 tweakie, I never thought it was designed for body armor. Anyway I saved the page, it's an interesting project.

 F-Engrave has been mentioned before and it is an excellent FREE engraving software which also includes a V-Carving option.

The Scorch Works website now has an instructional video on using the V-Carve option to produce wood inlay work and it is well worth watching.

 Still thinking about the trispokedovetiles design for use as a jigsaw puzzle…

The puzzle would need to be round or hexagonal in shape to provide the maximum number of identical pieces but assuming the puzzle’s picture was printed both sides then each piece could have just one of 6 x the number of complete dovetiles as a possible position.

Just taking a snapshot of one dovetile bounded by a circle perhaps illustrates the possibility.
