I have a couple of Seiko Kinetic watches that I don't wear often enough now to keep them charged up and keeping time. Kinetic watches have quartz movements, but don't use batteries. Instead they have a weight that charges a capacitor to power the movement. Well, every time I wanted to wear one of them, I had to shake it for a few minutes to get it to startup.
So yesterday, I cobbled together a stepper motor-powered watch winder.

John, great idea! As I know regular watch winders are not cheap things, so it's not just fun but useful anyway.

Thank you, Zoltan. Actually, I am trying to learn Arduino programming, and this seemed a simple project. I'm not sure I have really learned very much. John

Great idea John.
I think that with learning something new 'where there is a will, there will be a way' applies and I am sure you have actually learned a great deal about the Arduino in completing this project.
Tweakie.
Success consists of going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm. |
