Just a scrap piece of steel plate but this image was produced using the electro-etching process discussed in more detail in this thread http://hobbycncart.com/forum/46-241-1
There was no Z axis movement and the electrode remained in contact with the work whilst the current was switched on/off to produce the ‘dots’

Thanks Amator, I think the work is improving all the time but I think there is still a long way to go before it could be considered good enough to match other processes. As time permits I will keep experimenting and perhaps discover something I have overlooked.

Hi Guys!

I've lost my DotG postprocessor for Mach3 using M10/M11 commands.
Does anyone have it?
I found one but it finish the code with turned ON laser.

Hi Amator,

It is a long while since we discussed this…

DotG creates the ‘dot’ when the axis is stationery but the M10Px/M11Px commands only works at the time of axis (any axis) movement so I used a phantom B axis to fool Mach3. You need to set-up the B axis within Mach3 and depending on your settings (Acceleration, Velocity and Steps per Unit) you can control the length of time the laser ‘dot’ is fired.

My initial post processor is attached (there was another but it may take some finding).

Just a note for others that follow...

You must be using Mach3 revision R3.043.056. (or later) for the M11Px / M10Px commands to work correctly.

Tweakie, thanks, that helps. In Your pp in {moving} part the first command is M11P1 what turns the laser ON, then comes the M10P1 with OFF. I think it's normal. Don't You think that in my pp the M10/11 commands are inverted? Thats why at the end the laser remains ON.

That could be the case, perhaps invert the commands and see what happens ?

Tweakie, I changed the commands and the laser drawn little lines instead of dots. So I changed back and added an extra turn OFF at the end. Now it works as it should.
